7 - Training and Support

7.1 - Expectations

Faculty and staff are expected to learn to use software relevant to their job responsibilities.  The College periodically provides user-education seminars and other support materials.  Users are expected to participate in seminars pertinent to their on-the-job computer usage.  Some departments have user manuals available for a variety of software.  Users are expected to utilize online help resources provided with applications whenever possible.  All users have Internet access to accommodate searches for specific problem resolution.  Users can also call the IT Helpdesk, Devin Taylor, (405) 271-8001 ext. 43412.  If a user suspects a malfunction or misconfiguration in any software, they should contact the IT staff immediately (as noted in Appendix II).  The University maintains a help desk available to all users to answer many questions relating to the specific operation of most major office software.  The Help Desk phone number is (405) 325-4357 or toll-free (888) 435-7486.

7.2 - Learning Management System

Campus faculty, staff and students, are increasingly using course management systems.  Each College has personnel assigned to provide faculty and staff assistance with getting started using course management systems. 7.3 - Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHSO)

The Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHSO) provides health, safety, and environmental services to the University of Oklahoma including off-campus facilities to facilitate compliance with all environmental, occupational health and safety regulations. These regulations include, but are not limited to, those promulgated by OSHA, EPA, the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, the Oklahoma Department of Labor, and applicable regulations under the Department of Transportation. The Environmental Health and Safety Office provides a variety of links to resources.
